EXPLORING YOUTH HEALTH AND PREVENTION, ONE NORDIC COUNTRY AT A TIME
Churchill Fellowship
I have been granted a Churchill Fellowship to explore how Nordic countries tackle youlth health challenges. Whilst my focus is on youth vaping and nicotine, I am interested in the broader prevention context of which these policies sit in.
This blog is intended to share my learnings and reflections from my travel across the Nordics.

Background
With a background in health psychology, I have always been fascinated by behaviour change and how to influence individuals to make healthier choices. My academic and professional experience has deepened my interest in how evidence and behavioural insight can shape effective policy.
Healthcare faces many complex challenges, from ageing populations to widening health inequalities. For young people, a growing concern is the significant rise in vaping and use of nicotine products. My Fellowship allows me to explore in a personal capacity how Nordic countries have responded to youth health challenges – including vaping – and what the UK can draw from their approaches.
This Fellowship is undertaken in a personal capacity. All views expressed are my own and do not represent my employer.
